Shop Update!

So, I think I am going to continue with the single posts for shop updates. Seems to be working out so far! I am really, really in love with this week’s items, I wish I could keep it all! The only thing I kept was a dark green grunge era rayon dress with little flowers, because I’ve been meaning to add something like that to my wardrobe for a while. I sell so many dresses in this style, it was about time to keep one for myself! So, this update has tons of party dresses, coats, skirts, silk- I started in the neutrals, and will be working my way into more colorful items in the upcoming updates. If I get ambitious I might do another round later this afternoon!

Oh, I also wanted to share a cool thing- the gray 50’s coat in this update is from a local Portland company called Lipman Wolfe! It was established in the late 1800’s and set up shop downtown in the first building to have a store elevator for customers to use. They later moved to another downtown location, a huge building on 5th & Washington (which is, of course, still around). Here’s an old postcard of their department store, all lit up at night:

I read about the company here. Anyway, the cool thing is that the jacket is already sold, and it’s going to be traveling all the way to London! Finding local items like this is one of my favorite things, because I love Portland and it’s cool to have such a personal piece of its history. And now, that history will be extending all the way to the UK! Rad.
