Colorific Kalivas
November 5th, 2009

Refinery 29 posted about this amazing collection from Aussie designer Tina Kalivas and it really caught my eye. With those bright colors and unique patterns and lines, how could it not? This is one of those collections that can be regarded as straight-up art instead of just clothes, the lines on some of the dresses almost look like folded papers! Speaking of paper, I saw the famous Campbell’s Soup paper dress at the antique expo, pretty awesome. $1200! Anyway, back to the collection- it’s awesome. Like most collections, I don’t love all the looks, but I’m sharing all my favorites! Even if I am not into every single piece it is still cool to look at something so bright and fun.

ah! i know! i just spotted this collection, too, and i am in absolute love. the prints are a perfect follow up to that pendleton x opening ceremony collection that came out recently and the folds are genius. just beautiful!

Oh my, I kind of love this! It’s odd, because it’s not quite something I would normally wear, but there is something so entrancing about the way the fabric has been folded. And I have a soft spot in my heart for the African-inspired prints. Soo so lovely.
