PORTLAND FASHION INTERNSHIP

I never thought this day would come, but after many years of working completely alone, I need some help. 2013 has been awesomely busy with creative work projects, and I’m at a point where I want to keep up the pace and it feels like a perfect time to get someone else involved. If you’ve read this blog before, you know that I have a bunch of different projects going on. I have my vintage shop on etsy plus the new addition of the Refinery29 boutique (I’m starting work on a second collection for them!), my photography work and my line of leather goods. Of course I do wedding photography as well, but that’s not involved here.

I’m looking for someone who loves fashion (obviously) and wants to learn about everything that happens behind-the-scenes, including but not limited to: fashion and product photography, styling and assisting on photoshoots, editorial copywriting, sourcing vintage (aka thrifting with me, ha ha), managing an online boutique, developing and producing a small fashion line, etc. Obviously some things are more fun than others, but I feel excited about the projects I have right now and I honestly wouldn’t be putting out this call if the work was all going to be super lame, haha. I think it goes without saying that I am looking for someone who is bright and motivated, with a great eye for style/design, and most importantly, someone who I can count on!

Right now this is technically unpaid, but if all goes well I think this could turn into something more. I can go into more detail re: compensation (you know you’ll be getting the clothing hookups at the very least!) if you get in touch personally. Aside from the work with me, I hope I can help connect people within the Portland fashion community (and beyond!). I’ve been involved with a lot of local shops and designers and there are so many great people here doing a a huge variety or amazing work, and this community is growing quickly and in really awesome ways.

If you are interested in working with me, please email me and tell me about yourself! If you have a blog/tumblr/flickr/anything, send me links, and don’t overthink it. Let me know about your experience with fashion and computer stuff (no specific requirements, just whatever feels relevant). I’d love to this to start ASAP, so it’s best if you currently live in Portland (or live super close and can drive here easily). Tentatively, 10-15 hours a week with a flexible schedule. If you need this for school credit, that is cool too (just let me know what you need!). Also please feel free to ask any questions- I am 100% for openness and clarity in work, life, etc, so don’t be shy and let’s talk!

Cool! Don’t worry too much about a resume, just send me a quick email about yourself. I’m meeting with people this week (wed-fri).

Hey there! I know you already have someone, but if you need any extra help for anything, I would love to help. I just want to be surrounded by technology and fashion to get a sense of the atmosphere, to get inspired by new ideas, and going beyond what is shown, to see the real beauty of fashion into depth. I’m a junior in high school, and I’m planning to go to the new school of design in New York! I just wanted to experience behind the scenes!

Hi there! I can see that this is about a year late but would you be willing to take on a hard working intern who worships fashion? I love your work!
