Emily Ryan is my favorite clothing designer in Portland, she has such a creative spirit and I always really appreciate her playful aesthetic and the quality of what she makes. Her clothing ranges from extremely comfortable, stylish basics to pieces that really show her love for over-the-top shapes and unusual silhouettes. This is our second shoot together, and this time we also collaborated with a local jewelry and sculpture artist, BOET, who provided all the jewelry and the woven piece on our wall. And of course you’ll recognize Skye, I could take her photo forever and ever! Emily’s new work is up in her shop, take a look and find a great new piece for your wardrobe! I have a few of Emily’s designs in my closet and I wear them a lot. I feel like I could wear the ballerina cut-out dress every day this fall.
Clothing: Emily Ryan
Photography: Anja Verdugo
Model: Skye Velten
Hair & Makeup: Robin at Holiday Hair Studio
Jewelry and sculptural pieces: BOET

Really gorgeous photos, Anja! This collection is amazing! I NEED the watercolor dress in my life!

SKYE IS A DOLL. Also that first dress is blowing my mind. It could be the awesome booty-tooch action? Workin’ it.

Beautiful clothes love the contrast of the tights from the dresses/tops.
I’m not a fan of clothes that are a little out there but these designs have won me over and I know I would feel comfortable in them.
The model is very beautiful and shows them off well! <3

I think it’s cool that Emily’s work ranges from being super wearable/”normal” to pieces that are really creative and unique, because it makes the clothing in the middle just perfect! Best of both worlds, where you can wear a dress that has an extra special quality but doesn’t necessarily make people give you weird looks on the street, ha.

They are Rachel Comey clogs that I got a year or so ago from the ladies at Solestruck. Here’s the original link, of course they’re out of stock, but maybe you could try to scour the internet/ebay for a pair! http://www.solestruck.com/rachel-comey-haven-black/index.html
I can’t recommend them enough, they’re so comfortable and easy to wear!

Hi Hannah! The yellow & winking tights are by French designers, Les Queues de Sardines. The kneepad ones are by Hansel from Basel, and I’m not sure who made the burgandy/gold pair. The clogs are Rachel Comey, the gold tipped maryjanese are Chloe knockoffs, and I’m not sure about the black wedges.
