Shop Update!
August 26th, 2009
Shop update time!! This is a really special update, because it includes some of my all-time favorite finds! A couple 20′s and 30′s pieces that are so special and beautiful, they are hard to let go but it needs to happen. The little house print one is just so perfect, and the floral one is gorgeous with its little skirt wings! Also, a highly coveted elephant print dress (originally from the lovely Stellate Vintage), and other great dresses too! I’m trying to make up for lost vacation time and hopefully these pieces will find new homes soon! I’m going to try to do more updates this week and am thinking about putting everything in estatesale on super sale to clear it out. In the meantime, go and see the shop!

People always ask me if it’s hard to sell clothing that I love, and how I managed to not keep everything I find for the shop. Well, here’s one piece that I am keeping- a super sweet 1920′s flapper dress that has a cape! I found it at an antique mall and cleaned it up (it shrunk a bit, but not so much that it doesn’t fit me perfectly) and thought about selling it but it is exactly what I’ve been looking for lately- a sweet, simple golden-hued dress. Perfect length, and the the little details like the semi-sheer fabric and sweetheart neckline, bow, and the CAPE! were just too good to give up. Plus, I can imagine wearing it in the fall too with a nice navy cardigan and some wooly tights!

Oh my, you’re selling the elephant dress! I wish it would fit me, or I’d snatch it up! That golden dress is so divine. I have a problem not keeping/buying everything I love, I always feel like I never have enough clothing!

I love the first green dress! The yellow number is so sweet and unique, I don’t think anyone could begrudge you for keeping it.

i wanted to ask you! what kind of printer you were looking at? I’m also really eager to start selling prints but i don’t really want to drop a grand on a printer. any hints would be helpful.
great post by the way, a friend of mine would love that chloe dress.

just a heads up, you can fix the shrinking issue if you so desire, by soaking it in water again, hanging it to dry until it is just damp all over, and then pressing it with a steam iron on the lowest steam setting, while damp, in the direction of the fabric’s stretch. <3
