Love, Lost, Longing

May 8th, 2009

Lately I’ve been finding (and missing out on) a lot of really awesome clothing on etsy and ebay. I feel like I can’t even keep up with the volume of neat stuff I’m seeing! My wallet certainly can’t keep up, so I haven’t been buying much. I noticed a bit of a trend with the colors and patterns I’m liking these days, like those pale blue (chambray-ish) and white striped pieces above! The dress was from Liebemarlene, the other dress was from someone on ebay, and the corset cover (I wish I had just bought it right when I first saw it, it was only $15!) is from JustTooMuch on etsy. Maybe I’ll get lucky and thrift a blue and white piece of my own.

I’ve also been seeing some really awesome strappy vintage shoes in the past few days, I guess you could call them gladiators (but honestly, when I think of gladiator shoes it’s hard to only imagine the nice ones and not the hoards of ugly ones out there), but whatever they are, I want to find some asap.

The first pair was found by La Meow and were sold in her etsy shop before I even got a chance to see the listing! They were way too small for me though, so my heart isn’t as broken as it might have been. Seriously, those are my current dream shoes. So amazing! My friend Lisa (who also sells shoes) and I were geeking out on these shoes, both hoping that we’ll come across something like them in a thrift store soon. They’re out there somewhere! The second pair I found here on ebay, they’re a size 9 and are priced at $135 but you can also make an offer to the seller and maybe they’ll accept a lower price. The last pair is a bit different, from putonthatdress on etsy. They’re a size 6 and only $25! Once again, vintage versions of current styles are winning out, at least in my book.

Oh my, all the shoes are amazing. I know what you mean about not being able to keep up money wise.. I have a student account with an interest free overdraft and it’s seriously dangerous!

Those are all so pretty and enticing… I’ve been having a bit of a time finding things before they get snatched up (or are too expensive; as in the case of Ebay)! ;)

    the ebay shoes are mine!
I went to check out your latest post and seeing them here just confused me. I had to double check to make sure I wasn’t checking my ebay stats. As for the price, I have a hard time letting go of things… . I keep everything, and I will definitely go lower, that’s the idea. I mean they’re one of a kind vintage. There not a pair of shoe that you can just pick up at the mall. Not to mention that they’re amazing .. .they really are.

I love that you feel the same way about gladiators, because sometimes I feel silly when I like shoes that are the least bit gladiator-ish, but how could you not love shoes as great as those three pairs? The La Meow ones are extra amazing.

Plus, thanks for putting up that dress of mine! Ooh, and corset covers might have to be my newest search on Etsy.

Oh, I like these shoes all *so* much better than the avalanche of gladiators that are out there. The last pair are *so* summery.

Those shoes are gorgeous! If I didn’t have giant ogre feet I’d be buying many, many pairs of cute vintage shoes :-)
