Grotto Photoshoot with Orland Nutt

This photo series was shot (and edited) by my friend Orland, who makes many great images, films, and is a fashion shaman! I’m always very keen to see his outfits, and he is an excellent forager as well- the other night I made a soup with yellowfoot chanterelles that he & dalas picked recently. Rachel, Orland and I made these pictures at the Grotto, I think I might have a couple frames of film from this day too, to be developed soon! It felt funny to be in front of the camera, not knowing how everything looked (since I’m used to doing self-portraits or taking photos of others). I’m sure I could use more modeling practice, but I trusted that the end results would be awesome because Orland has a unique eye and a cool talent for manipulating colors and hues. Please enjoy these photos! There may be more in the future.

I love the style these images are shot. It emphasizes the clothes even more. The only thing I would have liked to see is some accessories to go with this clothing. Perhaps luxury handbags that reflect the same style and mood as what is seen in the pictures.

    What do you think?

The Grotto! I did a double take when I read that that’s where these were taken. I love these photos – they’re cheekily defiant of the religiosity of their setting. Great work!
